Maybe this is something you're more knowledgeable on than I am, but I would think that if the "Gold Cartel's" schemes are being "unraveled" then it would imply that the gold price increases are against their interests. And I guess, if "Gibon's Paradox" is being treated as law, that they don't want the interest rates to decrease.
My unconscious assumption is that they're more ambivalent about interest rates due to the elastic nature of fiat currency.
